Time Period:

Late 14th century (during the rule of Edward III of England) Welsh (but with rule by the d**ned English!)

Persona Bio:

A skilled carpenter and woodworker, Lord Robert received a small holding and title (instead of the promised monies) for his work in helping to build a stronghold for the English (may they be d**ned!)

Scadian Life:

This is my 39th year of association with the SCa, starting in the West Kingdom in Year One with AoAs from the West Kingdom, East Kingdom, Caid, and the Middle Kingdom before becoming a citizen of Æthelmearc.

Activities/

Interests:

Woodworking, brewing, history, calligraphy, gaming, writing, reading, camping, medieval studies, computer games, surfing the web, sculpture (clay, wood), painting (watercolors, oils, acrylics), drawing (pen, pencil, charcoal), too many other interests to list...but in the hundreds...

SCA Awards:

AoA (FIVE! From four different Kingdoms) in 1967, 70, 73, and two in 99, Purple Fret (Midrealm service award) 09/2001, White Star (service award from the Provnice of the Mists, West Kingdom) 1966.

Offices:

At various times and places, all of them (except Youth Marshal and Rapier Marshal) on both shire and baronial levels.

Other SCA

Activities:

Guild principal of the Baronial Woodworker’s Guild and many other “unofficial awards” from the early years of the SCA—just ask if you’re interested...I have lots  of NSTIW stories of the early years.

Mundane Bio:

Robert Waldbauer, younger half of a set of twins (my brother Richard is the evil twin—I have proof. He’s a Washington, DC lawyer!). I graduated from high school in May 1966, four years ahead of schedule dur to skipping grades. I was awarded a full scholarship to UC-Berkely where I first became involved with the SC (Marion Zimmer Bradler asked me to be her page for a party…)

I’ve taught both high school and college-level history, blown up bridges and buildings (military service), sold lumber and hardware, worked for TSR Hobbies, sculpted belt buckles, and changed light bulbs (including those on top of the World Trade Center, Sears Tower and Empire State Building) for a living at various times in my life.

I’m currently retired due to a disability ruling (I had a series of strokes) from Social Security. And am very happily married to the wonderful Dawn de la Lune, MKA Angela, with three step-children. Wait! Didn’t I already raise MY six?

Birthday:

November 3, too long ago (in a galaxy far, far away)

Favorite Quote:

“there is no personal problem that a suitable application of high explosives cannot solve.”
